Hair & Scalp Care

Resolving inflammation for a healthy scalp and brighter hair

ReviScalp™ is a natural and sustainable extract from the endemic Australian Aniseed Myrtle, developed to answer the skinification trend in hair care by resolving inflammation for a healthy scalp and brighter hair.

Specialized Pro-Resolving Mediators

SPMs are a new array of molecules recently discovered. Produced only during the Resolution stage of the inflammatory response, they are a key player in the return to homeostasis by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress while optimizing tissue regeneration. In their absence, the body never truly returns to homeostasis and will be led into a chronic inflammatory stage.

Mode of action

While most anti-inflammatory and soothing solutions focus on the decrease in pro-inflammatory mediators, ReviScalp™ boosts the production of Specialized Pro-Resolving mediators, the key molecules to accelerate the return to scalp homeostasis. Clinically proven on men and women, it rebalances sebum production and scalp pH, decreases dandruff appearance, restores scalp health, and increases hair brightness.

The image shows a comparison of scalp and hair conditions between Day 0 (D0) and Day 28 (D28). The top row displays close-up images of the scalp, while the bottom row shows the hair.

On Day 0, the scalp has visible dandruff, and the hair appears less bright. By Day 28, the dandruff is significantly reduced or eliminated, and the hair looks brighter. The accompanying text highlights the improvements: dandruff appearance is reduced by up to 100%, scalp sebum is reduced by up to 59%, and hair brightness is increased by up to 105% compared to Day 0. This suggests a significant improvement in scalp and hair health over the 28-day period.

Clinically tested

ReviScalp™ was clinically tested on women and men as an easy-to-formulate rinse-off shampoo so it could fit everybody’s lifestyle.

Clinically proven on women and men to:

  • Reduce appearance of dandruff
  • Decrease scalp and hair oiliness
  • Rebalance scalp pH
  • Improve scalp barrier function
  • Increase hair brightness
  • Increases production of specialized pro-resolving mediators
  • Decreases pro-inflammatory mediators
The image is a graph illustrating the process of inflammation and resolution in the body. It shows two overlapping curves representing the activity of inflammatory mediators and specialized pro-resolving mediators over time.

1. **Inflammatory Mediators (Orange Curve)**:
   - This curve rises during the initial and amplification phases of inflammation.
   - Inflammatory mediators are responsible for initiating and amplifying the inflammatory response to injury or infection.

2. **Specialized Pro-Resolving Mediators (Green Curve)**:
   - This curve rises as the inflammatory mediators begin to decline.
   - These mediators are crucial for the resolution phase, leading to complete tissue restoration, return to homeostasis, and avoidance of scar formation and chronic inflammation.

3. **Phases**:
   - **Initiation (Ini)**: The beginning of the inflammatory response.
   - **Amplification**: The phase where inflammatory mediators are at their peak, enhancing the inflammatory response.
   - **Resolution - Return to Homeostasis**: The phase where specialized pro-resolving mediators take over, leading to the resolution of inflammation and restoration of normal tissue function.

The graph emphasizes the importance of a balanced inflammatory response, where the resolution phase is crucial to prevent chronic inflammation and promote healing.

Resolution of inflammation

The inflammatory response in human skin was long believed to be a 2-phase process with the initiation when damage happens followed by amplification with the massive release of pro-inflammatory mediators while the return to homeostasis was seen as passive as the healing was just “happening”.
Recent studies have demonstrated the inflammatory response is a 3-phase active process with the addition of the resolution phase, found to be mandatory to allow the return to homeostasis, with the discovery of molecules called Specialized Pro-resolving mediators (SPM).
