Beraca Patauá Oil
Patauá Oil is sustainably extracted from the fruit of Patauá, a plant native to South America, especially in the Amazon. Patauá is easily recognized for being a solitary palm tree up to 25 meters high. The fruits have a dark purple round-oval shape when ripe and are covered by a whitish waxy layer. In cooking, Patauá oil is mainly used in salads and fried foods as it has similar characteristics to olive oil, being highly unsaturated and rich in amino acids. Its fruits are also consumed in natura.
Clariant and Beraca work with local communities to provide collectors additional income, in addition to favoring the species conservation and allowing the maintenance of biodiversity in a region that is of great ecological importance.
Beraca Patauá Oil is rich in omega 9 and provides a high shine with hydrated and non-greasy after-feel. It restores hair scalp health, reducing desquamation after chemical damage.
Product Information
Clinically tested on a panel of 45 volunteers who had undergone hair chemical treatment for 1 to 3 days before the test started, the Beraca Patauá oil decreased scalp flaking in 34% after 7 days of treatment and 43% after 21 days of treatment. Besides that, it promoted a reduction of 11% in hair cuticle damage, evaluated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) in hair tresses.
On a trained panel, the evaluation of the sensory profile after application showed the product had very high scores in shine and hydration, promoting non-greasy after feel to the skin.
