TARGETING LONG NON-CODING RNALucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant recently focused its research on a long non-coding RNA, called “nc886”. This RNA was recently recognized to be a key regulator of PKR, a protein known for inducing premature aging. For the first time, the correlation between aging and decrease of nc886 expression was demonstrated. Therefore, stimulating nc886 becomes a new target for skin rejuvenation. With Epseama, the industry can develop effective skincare products directed at the true causes of aging.
As a recognition for this innovative pathway, Epseama won the second prize at the BSB Innovation Award 2019 in the category "Active Ingredients".
